Jio Gigafiber Broadband Registration via MyJio, Jio.com on August 15: What You Should Know Here

Reliance Jio will start the registration process for its Jio Giga fiberbodband services on August 15, which will bring people closer to one step closer to reaching their high-speed network. Last month in RIL AGM, India's richest man Mukesh Ambani had said that the Jio GigaFiiber service will provide users speed up download up to 1 GBps. For now, the service will be launched in only 1,100 cities, and there will not be an all India initiative like the company's telecommunications venture that was launched two years ago. Broadband service has been testing in a small number of 2016 with users reporting speed of over 700 Mbps. The rollout will not be immediate and the availability will depend on the demand, but if you are interested in the Jio Gigaphiber, then we list what we want to know about it.

Jio GigaFiber Broadband Registration

Jio GigaFiber registration starts on 15th August but this is the only - Registration. This means that you will not get the service immediately after registering your interest (excluding areas where it is already rolled). Instead, the company will assess demand from all locations and will start operations in areas with the demand of its high-speed broadband network. In fact, Ambani said in his AGM speech, "We will give priority to our Jio GigaFiher rollout in those areas where we get maximum registration."

You will be able to register for Jio GigaFiber from the MyJio app and Jio.com website. Unlike live phones last year, users interested in broadband networks will not have to pay any amount while registering their interests.

Jio GigaFiber Broadband Plans

There is no official word on Jio Gigafiber plans so far, but consumers will have to pay Rs. 4,500 refundable amount for the router in those areas where the service is already available. The service is free for the first three months, as in 2016 in the case of Jio Telecom Network. Now there is no plan in these areas, but it is widely expected that Jio will have some plans in 1,100 cities These may include a free level to present broadband to those users, who have not used it yet, as well as paid levels with high data download allocation.

Jio GigaFiber Installation and Jio GigaTV

To set up the Jio Gigafiber network, the company will install a Jio Gigator in your home or office. This router will provide "wall-to-wall high-speed Wi-Fi coverage" - the company has claimed speed of 1 GBps download speed and 100 Mbps upload speed in its presentation. The company says that users will be able to stream 4K video and play VR games over the network. It is not clear how many devices are supported on the network at the same time.

Broadband networks will also power the TV experience and smart home suite. For large screen TVs, the company will install the Gigativi set-top box and provide users with a voice-activated remote. With this set-top box, which says the company, consumers will be able to see "600 TV channels, thousands of movies, millions of songs, and any other type of content possible". The presentation showed applications such as JioTV, JioCinema, JioTVCall, JioSmartLiving, JioNetVelocity, JioCloud, MediaShare, and JioStore on a TV screen.

Bundled giorometeos will be able to take voice command - users only need to talk to what they have to watch on TV and play it "immediately on your TV" It will work with many Indian languages, the company says, although it did not say which language would be supported.

Users will also be able to make video calls on TV powered by Jio GigaFiber - video calls will be supported on any TV using a bio network with mobile phones and tablets on any network.

The Jio Broadband network will also be in the center of its Smart Home Suite, which includes accessories such as audio dongle, video dongle, smart speaker, Wi-Fi expander, smart plug, outdoor security camera and TV camera. The user will be able to monitor and control the houses connected with their Gigab fiber using smartphones, including temperature, lighting, gas and water leakage. The company claims that it will take only an hour to set up a smart home.
